This case report describes the successful management of adult jaundice (Kamala) in a 24‑year‑old male using a classical Ayurvedic protocol. The patient presented with Netra‑Twak Pitata (scleral and cutaneous icterus), Aruchi (anorexia), and Daurbalya (generalized weakness). Laboratory investigations confirmed severe hyperbilirubinemia (Total Serum Bilirubin: 8.6mg/dL) and elevated serum transaminases. A diagnosis of Kostha‑Shakhashrita Kamala was established. Treatment comprised a Pitta‑pacifying channel‑clearing regimen including Navayas lauha, Phalatrikadi Kashaya, and Guduchi‑sadhita Jala (Tinospora cordifolia), supported by a strict Pathya diet of low‑fat, easily digestible foods. Within 60 days, complete clinical resolution was achieved, with bilirubin reduced to 1.9mg/dL, normalization of liver enzymes, and no adverse events. This case underscores the potential of classical Ayurvedic interventions to address the root pathogenesis of jaundice by pacifying Ranjaka Pitta and relieving Srotorodha. The findings suggest that integrative approaches combining traditional formulations with dietary regulation may provide safe and effective alternatives for managing hyperbilirubinemia, warranting further systematic evaluation.
